every once in a while a record or in this case an ep comes along and its so bursting with feel good vibes that even the most cynical dance music listener cant resist. at the mere age of 19, francisco davalos is about to grab the attention of many. simply put, the young mexican has a superb ear for the language of music. after a recent 12 on nurvous (nervous records new sublabel), on the prowl finds itself lucky to land these four tropical themed disco tinged club bombs. with hints of what made tensnakess coma cat so successful the bronx skillfully puts together his tropical ep packed with plenty of playful pianos, strings, congas, marimbas... theres no holding back.

these redux releases are like buses, we dont hear anything for ages then they hit us with three killer eps in a row. following the grand corporation and machete savane comes the return of phoreski. we have not heard much from phoreski for a little while, but you will soon hear why when you put the needle to the record on these two new tracks. he has been busily building up his studio into an enviable aladdins den of vintage kit, wires and analogue recording equipment. all synths and vocals you hear on these tracks come from phoreski, no samples, no guests, no edits. he has been hinting at this raw, analogue authentic sound for a while, but these tracks showcase a producer at one with the machines. >brown biscuits< comes across like some lost italo/cosmic gem, but via the north east of england rather than the lakes of italy. >machines< flexes tight proto-house rhythms with some bass that will make mince meat of lesser club soundsystems whilst the feuding synth lines fight for attention. this is proper body music, play loud!

burkhardts latest stroke, including the hit delight. now we are back again with a charming selection of remixes, including work by tobi neumann and julien veniel aka djulz. tobi neumanns remix reminds the attentive listener to the old days of oslo. it is so to speak on the point. its light, but still complex in a special way. tobi carefully unhinged the catchy vocals of delight, added it at some points and put his glance over it. the b-side is home to djulzs interpretation of pianissimo. a dark and powerful house track, that finds its glory in its simplicity. a subtle piano sample is the basis for a forward moving drum pattern. here and there an eerie vocal shot rises and guides the dancer through the musical mind of djulz.

after all efforts were put into jacob korns debut album during summer 2012 uncanny valley strikes back with namesake jacob stoy and his very first solo ep after his s51 for the uv010-compilation. everything starts with redensart, a sunny piece of music with a sneaky bassline and easy synth pads that come across like a warm rain shower: its house in the end but feels like so much more. hauswart is an impressive example of how one can create a whole atmosphere of sound within two minutes. its short but feels so comfortable that you really like it to go on and on forever. start is maybe the most conventional deep house track on the ep and seduces with catchy synth chords and thrilling drums. finally gegenwart brings things to a jazzy end with tipsy synths and tripping percussions. the artwork comes from none other than jacobs father olaf stoy, who is a painter, lyricist and porcelain designer still working in jacobs hometown rabenau near dresden.

a fistful of wax is an extension for some very special projects of our beloved deep house skylax records sub – label wax classic. for this first release, we give you the opportunity to grab 5 fantastic trax done by some of the best deep house producers at the moment. a1 is done by the great girogio luceri whose been releasing some very hot tunes through jamal moss mathematics & runaways on the prowl labels. a2 is done by jamie trench one of the new hot producer made in london, his track sound very very garage & we loved it instantly. while on the b side we have again 3 bomb tracks featuring first on b1 jackmaster k who delivers clearly an anthem, it reminds us some of best house music made in uk (circa 91/92), this track could have been played by sasha & digweed or carl cox at shoom ! b2 is marcoradi , an italian producer who teamed up with the great nicholas on one his 4lux release. he also produced many remixes (erykah badu ect ...) & some 12 inches over the years. b3 is rio padice from rawax & housewax fame those tracks are all firmly rooted into the deep house sound (check the detroitian vibes of get back). they never settle into one comfortable, predictable groove. its heady, emotion-rich grooves include warm, melodic two-step and future garage flavas, dubwise slo-mo grooves. its eclectic, no doubt, but thanks to those guys warm production and heavy deep vocals, this release will put your hands up in the air marvellously.

after the tense and dramatic soundscapes of jason letkiewiczs nzambi lp under his soundtrack guise alan hurst, emotional response have put the tracks to the test for three appropriately oddball remixers. fellow l.i.e.s. affiliate terekke turns out a heavily sedated dub of >nzambi< that rides a pacey house beat but buries everything in delay and reverb. timothy j fairplay brings some serious sleazy 80s electro tones to >parallel sensations<, complete with predatory vocal and thick ladles of synthy goodness. finally, jonas reinhardt cools off the intensity with a blissful ambient version of >before the dawn< which plunges headfirst into a warm bed of melodic drones.

this twentieth 3024 release is by my friend trevino. i am particularly proud to put this out because it was trevino (aka marcus intalex), who signed my very first tracks and gave me my break back in 2005 (a 12 inch called get down on his label revolve:r). in the last two years he has started taking his techno more seriously, writing new tracks at a very fast pace. i am glad people are taking notice of his music cos he is the real deal and it was tough picking tracks for this release cos he is making so many! ultimately we chose four that would clearly showcase marcus different sides and styles. so, seven years after my >get down<, i am proudly presenting the mighty trevino with his >tactical manoeuvre ep<.

edux return from a winter hibernation and summer of partying with some more essential wax. machete savane is their latest signing, aka studio supremo saul richards & andy bainbridge, an integral part on well respected and notoriously raucous party people bad passion andy has perfectly distilled what drives the bad passion dancefloor in the excellent >elysian fields<, and who better to put a unique stamp on the track than their main resident guest felix dickinson. he takes the track into bolder, dubbed out and altogether more acid house territory, while keeping the live elements to the fore. finally mid op amps up the drum machinery, and lays out another corking balearic with balls workout. quality stuff as always.

eric erickssons not exactly the most prolific producer in the world but what he lacks in releases he certainly makes up for in quality. in 1997 eric signed his debut ep to derrick mays fragile records, established his own kass recordings in 2004 and then last year put out his killer someone is watching ep on carl craigs planet e. >love cannot< remixer mr beatnick has been in popular demand since his slow jack remix of hints >one woman army< on tru thoughts profoundly pushed his production skills into the limelight, quickly backed by the 2011 track >synthetes< on semteks >dont be afraid< label, which featured on many tracks of 2011 lists. his follow up ep, sun goddess, has already gained critical acclaim and support from the likes of gilles peterson on radio 1.

next michel cleis masterpiece , this time on dj kozes pampa records... >mir a nero< begins with a steady, upbeat kick underlying a simple piano arpeggio - like if philip glass make dance music - but then some accents of vibrant hand percussion loosen up the vibe, soon progressing into rhythmic layers that cause the energy to swell. by the 4-minute mark, a subtle, buzzing synth permeates the background, contrasting the tracks overall organic feel, leading into the playful piano chords and colombian vocal hook. simply put, this is latin house with that anomalous pampa records swagger, drenched with flavor like sangria-soaked mango. flip that baby over and you get >amaranthus<, named after the famed flower that represents immortality. this piece stands as a color-negative of >mir a nero<, an unwavering stomp with just shadows of the piano sample heard earlier. freeze-dried rather than sun-ripened, >amaranthus< is a dubby, more technofied counterpart to the a-side, crafted for deeper and darker moments on the dancefloor.

back and cooking up more funk and flavor with his second album for rekids, mr g proves hes still the king of rhythm with state of flux. packing more history than most of the top current producers put together, mr g has been fine-tuning his breed of music for two decades. described by the man himself as its all about a bassline, his music takes the formula of a ballad and the movement of reggae.

romes egisto sopor has been making little waves with his releases for quite a while now. since we have known him he has released a cdr album on legowelts strange life records and put a cassette out on the much admired 100% silk label, both under the name polysick. as theawayteam he has released a dvd >relax & sleep< and a cd >star kinship< on japanese label moamoo. he is also one half of the low key video unit aavv, whose work has graced many of the important releases of new lofi electronic movement.
well, here is his first album proper >digital native<, 15 tracks of glowing, nocturnal, analogue grace that hark back to acid house and early techno, but with a mood and intent that seems to be designed for watching images dance on closed eyelids. it is no surprise that his work as a video artist resonates so strongly with the music he makes.
